Update On Brett’s Health
Dear friends,
At the beginning of the
summer, Brett was having a wrestling match with our 15-year-old son, Josh.
They were just having fun, but Brett got seriously hurt after hitting his
temple hard on the floor. He went to the Emergency Room because of
fogginess (he has been unable to focus or concentrate for any good length of
time), a constant pain in his head, and nausea. He was diagnosed with a
concussion on Friday, June 8th.
As the weekend went on
Brett’s fogginess and pain intensified and he went back to the ER that
Sunday night. They told Brett to cancel the first part of our summer tour
and to have further testing done. Since then the doctors have told
Brett that he does not have a concussion, but a closed head injury and that
it is suspected that Brett has bruising on the right and left sides of his
brain. He had expected all along to be fully recovered by the second
half of our summer tour; however, Brett is not doing any better and the
neurologist said last week that it may take up to 9 months for the fogginess, pain and
flu-like symptoms to be gone. So, we just cancelled the second half of our
summer camp tour.

Needless to say, besides
feeling very sick and being unable to drive or communicate very well, Brett
is upset to have to deliver this news to the camps he has waited for so long
to speak at. Summer tour has long been a favorite part of our year and
we are all very disappointed to be missing it, but even more sad that Brett
has now been sick for eight weeks and is not getting better.
We love you all and are so
grateful for your love and support. Please pray for Brett’s healing. We
have cancelled six summer camps so far. Please pray for God’s fruit to be
overflowing at the camps we have not been able to be at.
Love,

Carol Ray
